A collage made during the Pandemic using my daily tea and thoughts.
During the first semester of 2020, I kept a “pandemic journal.” Often while drinking my afternoon tea, I would use whatever was left of the brew to paint a piece of watercolor paper. As soon as it was dry, I would draw on it, not a complex, fantastic drawing, but something that represented my mindset at that time. I then created the canvas on which the journal entries are displayed, by dyeing organic cotton with hibiscus tea. This piece, in a way, reveals my inner vulnerabilities and feelings. There is nothing more personal and better for someone to get to know another, than looking at one’s journal.
